There were many outstanding rookies in the 2020 MLB season. The top three going for Rookies of the Year (ROY) in the NL are Jake Cronenworth, INF for the San Diego Padres, Alec Bohm, 3B/1B for the Philadelphia Phillies , and Devin Williams, RHP for the Milwaukee Brewers. I think that Jake Cronenworth should win the ROY.
Jake Cronenworth should win because he can play anywhere in the infield and he proved to be a great defender at all the positions. He could even be a decent pitcher, as he was picked up as a RHP. His 2020 stat line was great for a rookie as he had a .285/.354/.477 with 4 HR, 20 RBI's, and had 1 of the grand slams when the padres hit 1 in 4 straight games. Jake also won the Players Choice Award for NL Outstanding Rookie in 2020.
Jake Cronenworth would be a great pick for ROY, but he is up against some other great players that could win too. The difference maker for me is that he can play anywhere, and play the positions well. He would be only the 3rd Padre in history to win the award.
