Thankful.

November, my personal favorite month of the year. The real “San Diego Cold” sets in, the sounds of holiday music just a little too early, and Thanksgiving. November is about family in our household. Which brings me to what I am thankful for...my BIL.
My BIL has influenced my life tremendously in the last 26 years, perhaps more than anyone else. I was 21 years old wrapping up my Bachelors degree when my father suddenly passed away. A young 27 year old man recently married to my sister took on a role of support, older brother, and peer. Talk about being thrown in and stepping up.
He was a rock of support when our family needed it. He is my brother, not by law, but by the type of person he is. He was an older brother when I needed it. Rarely, but when needed (and gently) he has told me what I need to do. He helped me become the man I am today. He is a man who drops wisdom leaving it up to me to listen. These drops were never forced, some ahead of their time, and not always right or wrong, but always moving forward. I had never heard of passive income, training the mind, the pro/con whiteboard, the 3 year plan, the 5 year plan, but because of BIL they have become a part of my everyday life now.
I am thankful for having this great influence in my life. I am thankful that my family gets together every Thanksgiving and we have opportunities to reminisce, create new memories, and catch drops of wisdom.
Enjoy each day, each one has a unique sunset.
